Water Recovery
Why returning the filtrate is part of the process, not a waste stream.
Recovered water is the part of the plant that pays for itself: less make-up water, fewer tanker movements, a steadier circuit.

Why this matters
Recovered water is the part of the plant that pays for itself: less make-up water, fewer tanker movements, a steadier circuit.
Filtrate is the largest stream that leaves a filter press, so where it goes decides how hard the press has to work. Returning it to the slurry tank or the wash bay cuts make-up water and keeps the density of the circuit stable. Where water has to be discharged, the discharge limits set the extra treatment step.
Key engineering points
-
Reuse point decides the target
Water going back into a bentonite mixer has to be cleaner than water going to a wash bay.
-
The circuit gets steadier
Reusing filtrate keeps the slurry tank level and the density stable.
-
Discharge limits are a design input
Where water must be discharged, the limits set the treatment step.
